Under the Disability Discrimination Act 1995, any child who has a statement of special education needs has the right to request a place at a school via the Borough of Poole Admissions Team. Visits to the school are always welcomed. For those children who do not have an Education, Health and Care Plan but have special needs, the normal admission procedure applies.
The school's Accessibility Plan ensures that our facilities are accessible for all. We have a lift to access upstairs and automatic doors on the front entrance. We have accessible toilet facilities and showers. To ensure that children with disabilities are not treated less favourably than other pupils, we regularly review provision and, for some pupils, this is done formally with the involvement of external agencies.
We have an Inclusion Leader, Mr Gubbins and a named Governor with responsibility for Inclusion to ensure that pupils with special needs join in everyday activities with other pupils. Copies of our Inclusion Policy and Core Offer are available on our website or on request through the school.
