It’s a sad fact that in Britain over a million women and more than 700,000 men were victims of domestic abuse last year, according to figures from the Office for National Statistics (2013/2014 figures). In many of these households, the children will have witnessed what was taking place.
It’s equally shocking that 2,700 people were trafficked for prostitution, forced labour or slavery in the UK according to the National Crime Agency (2014). 602 of these victims were children. Unfortunately these numbers are thought to be just the tip of the iceberg.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
